Whitfield House is a fine timber framed Elizabethan house dating from around 1580.  Recent research carried out when the house was renovated, reveals that it stands on the site of an even older house.

We are very well located for the chanell tunnel, as well as many local features, from historic gardens (such as Sissinghurst Castle which is only a couple of miles away in the next village) to the “lovliest castle in the world” (Leeds Castle which is a 20 minute drive away) and other attractions such as the steam trains run by Kent and East Sussex Railway from Tenterden (5 miles distant) to Northiam in East Sussex.
